Geology
Walloon Coal Measures of Middle Jurassic age dipping gently west to
south. Up to 53 locally named coal "seams" have been identified in
the upper part of the coal measures contained in six seam groups.
These are: A1- A8, B1- B11, C1-C8, D1- D11, E1- E8 & F1- F8
(inclusive). Some 31 "seams" contained in the lower four seam
groups are currently mined, each with an average seam thickness of
0.2m. The Ebenezer Deposit consists of a series of faulted domes &
basins. Displacements on some of the north to northwest trending
faults range up to 44m & dips close to these have been recorded as
high as 25 degrees. Four mining areas have been defined, the
Ironbark, Willow, Tee Tree & Gum areas.
Mining Method Multi-seam open-cut using excavators, front end loaders and trucks
for overburden removal.

81km by rail from the Port of Brisbane.
Preparation plant Baum Jig for high gravity separation, and dense medium cyclones for
low gravity separation of the coarse coal fractions. Spirals were used
to recover the fine coal fractions.
Product Coals High volatile thermal coal. A typical per-hydrous Walloon coal.
Comments
Overburden removal, coal mining, beneficiation and administration was previously carried out by a contractor workforce of 90
producing 1.8 million tonnes per annum.
